Beating Addictions.You would probably never be able to overcome an addiction on your own. People were created with a special place deep within where God should reside. A place that God 'put there' to be filled with our love for Him. ... Through the first man and woman sin entered the world, which is why Jesus came and died on the cross - to bear our sins, that we might be reconciled with our Heavenly Father. Those who have not reconciled with the Father through the Son have an ache deep within which they try to ease with any one of a number of addictions: Alcohol, drugs, money, sex, sport, computer games etc. The best chance one has of beating any addiction is to confess your sins, repent (turn away from them), accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour - and ask Him to come and live in your heart. When He fills you with the Holy Spirit, you CAN beat anything! Not in your own strength but in His. It won't be easy, becasue your flesh will war against your spirit - but your spirit, assisted by the Holy Spirit WILL WIN!!
